I am stumped! Weeks of researching and my family/co-workers detest the names I've come up with...so it's back to the grinding stone.
I want to find uncommon but not unheard of baby names.
What good baby names can you come up with? I don't know if I'm having a boy or a girl. So send me some of each.
Something uncommon; no Jennifer's or Chris's please.
Thanks!

I've been doing the same thing and I'm not even pregnant yet! My husband and I cannot agree to anything! I've learned that you should never tell others of the names you like. They will always have an opinion and you'll never find one you like best. What's most important is if you and the baby's father agree.

I have a very uncommon name, Marnie, and I too want an uncommon one for my child. I don't like common names or the trendy names (Ashley, Brittney, Alexandria).

Here's my list of names I like (my husband doesn't agree so I pass them to you).

For a boy: Marcus, Oscar, Liam, Levi, Ronan, Leland

For a girl: Abby, Molly, Claudia, Macy, Cecily, Maryn, Dagny. Lilou, Marae.

They rank names in order of popularity and give drawback as well. Congratulations and good luck!

I work in labor and deliver, and if you want something different, I would advise you to stay away from anything like Aiden, and anything that rhymes with it. Jayden, Hayden, Braden, Kayden...five years from now there will be at least four of each in every kindergarten.

I like Jagger, Jonah, Yuri, Mazie, Ryder, Rory, Clara, Analiese, Ryan (for a girl), Alex...it goes on and on.

The most unusual baby names i've had have been Lucky and Jealousy. Honestly, if you want a really unusual name, go back to the most popular names in the 50s. I've never delivered a George or a Linda.

My favorite name for a girl is Sianna, pronounced Sy Anna. I read it in a book a long time ago and I decided it would be my daughters name when and if I had children. Then I got pregnant and most of my family didn't like it or understand it. So, I ended up naming her after my favorite Charmed character instead. Therefore, I feel Sianna is still an uncommon name. I hope you like it.
For a boy I like Dominic Jacob or Damien.

First, here is a list of uncommon baby names. You can take a look through it and see what you like.

Second, who cares what your family/co-workers think? It's your kid! As long as the name isn't something embarrassing that the child will be mercilessly teased for, go right ahead and do what you like.

Personally, I like the name Danu (the name of a goddess) and Anya, Kade and Finn.

But what do I know? I named my son something plain like Andrew. LOL
