i work at a tile and material store. we mostly have cement and grout sales which come in bags of 10-50 pounds. i'm the only employer: 5feet tall, 120 pound -girl.
here's the thing that i can't figure out:
the mexican men that come into the shop, will NOT let me help carry anything for them; even if they're by themselves and just bought 25 bags of cement...and they're really nice about it.
while the american men just don't care; in fact; if i just stand there while they load the 25pound bags; they'll give me dirty looks.
why do you think?

Why do you have a job where you cannnot perform the duties?
Anyway...I am anglo and would not let you carry, unless you insisted.
Then again...I have found myslef pi**ing off women trying to open doors for them. Some women feel it rude to assume they cannot do things on their own. Most were anglo, of course...where hispanic women liked it.
I truly believe that women have/had the power to effect when we men do in return for them...and vice-versa.

Mexican men have that machismo thing going on(allot of them anyway). They are man! and wouldn't let the women carry something heavy out. That is their job!
Although there are very sexist white men who also believe that they are MAN, i think its a little different. As the Mexican man wants to be in a position to do the mans work, as to prove his manliness, a white guy focuses on what women cant do. White men are a little less chivalrous in my opinion. I am a White girl dating a fine Mexican boy.
I know those are generalizations, and i dont mean to offend anyone. It is an opion based upon all of my interactions. I am white and have always had close mexican friends. I see both sides. Not everyone is the same, so you cant say all mexican men are like this and all white men like that, but it may help you understand your sitch better = )

that is true but from my experiance they just want to have sex. their really nice at first but after about 6 month they are not. i'm not saying all are though(and plus all those guys that help you and seem nice probolay are marrired with kids)hope this helped if you want to know more about mexican guys (me from only dating mexicans and in a relationship with one now i'll be open to talking to about it,,,, contact me,,,,,,,,,,,,(they are not all bad though)
