Nero became princeps at just 17 years of age after a troubled childhood. His mother Agrippina used him as a basis to gain power for herself, and her forceful, controlling and brutal personality probably contributed to his later debauchery. All the while he had Seneca and Burrus to advise him the country was stable, as they curbed his excesses and made good policy decisions, but once Tigellinus took their place the reign deteriorated so far that Nero was eventually declared a public enemy by the Senate. Whether or not he really kicked his wife to death seems to be a matter of opinion, but although Nero wasn't really evil as such he could be vicious and mean. Possibly a case of "absolute power corrupts absolutely"?

No, he was just a craptastic leader; he never did any leading. Even as a leader, he stuck to his preferred profession which was stage acting.

Sure, he was a poof, but that's no reason to ask if he was devil spawn.

Especially since his alleged major sin, the burning of Rome, was proven to be an accident several years ago when they'd found evidence that, iirc, it was caused by a cookfire that had gotten out of control in the poor area of the city.

Nero is the image of a sick and godless human being. He is personally responsible for the persecution of thousands of Christians. Many Christians believe he was the anti-christ or the spawn of satan because he was unbelievably evil and his name is numerically equal to 666. He should of stuck to acting and the theatre. It is possible that he could of been possessed by demonic forces or just completely looney.

No he wasn't at all and our account of him is based on a particular set of people's reactions to him. He was a person given absolute power very early on in his life and abused that power with his family and within his circle of acquaintance.
