Llamas belong in the camelid family along with camels, vicunas, guanacos, and alpacas. Those are the only 5 species that make up the camelid family. Llamas do not have split hooves like goats and cows...they have padded feet like a dog, covered by two toenails that make it look like a hoof.

i have goats and alway thought they were related too llamas, camels, alpacas and maybe cows. but i'm sure. they are all in the split hoof or cloven hoof group (i don't know what thats called).
