If you're running Windows XP, go to: All.Programs/Accessories/System.Tools/System.Information which will show your Total Physical Memory. To find out the brand that you have, and any other necessary info, you'll probably have to take the cover off your machine and look at the memory module(s) on your motherboard.

Use a system information utility. For PC, AIDA32 is a good one and can be found here:

if u download cpuz from http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php
this will explain what type of RAM you have and possible the brand.
