I just received a burberry dgo collar and leash for my dog. I was wondering if the leash hook is gold or silver. The collar and leash both have the red cherry leather and not the regular brown one.

I did not mean if its real gold or silver but the covering of the hook? I know it has to be something strong to hold the dog but what is the color of the metal that it has been plated with.

The hook is probably steel. Gold and silver aren't strong enough to hold an excited dog in place.
If you're worried it might be fake, the best way is to check where you got it from. If it wasn't an official Burberry dealer, or you got it off eBay, you might have been scammed.
Just because it's a brand name doesn't mean they use precious metals.

I"m sure the hook is neither gold or silver. Those metals are not strong enough to serve the purpose.
