I drove it many, many times from the East Bay, adding the miles from SF makes it:

180 miles via I-580, I-205 and then Highway 120 (most scenic option). For the time and scenery, I'd recommend this route. About 3.5 hours plus any traffic delays (try not to leave Friday between 4 and 7 pm). Last cheap and 24-hour gas is in Oakdale. Tank up there.

or 180 miles going I-580 south towards I-5 but taking Highway 132 east just before you get to I-5. Then 40 miles down hwy 99 before turning east on Highway 140. The only reason to go that way, IMO, is if there is snow at 5,000 on 120 you want to avoid.

Lastly, you could take 49 south from 140 and then go north on 41. That's 220 miles or so to the Valley and the slowest trip, but it takes you past the Sequoia grove near the southern entrance of the park. (it is easier and quicker to tour the Sequoias just inside the park on 120).

Takes about 4 hours (about 90 mins just to get out of the valley) but I can't remember the mileage. Its a pretty enough drive full of windfarms which are a bit distracting when you're driving on the interstate. Don't forget to go to the Jelly Belly factory on the way into San Fransisco (its near Sacremento)

Don't be so LAZY. You're sitting in front of a computer, type "Maps" into your search engine and it will list several that will not only give you that information, but will also give you directions that you can print out.
