There is no good argument for any party they are all evil.
Go for the green party.
Its just that it doesnt matter republican or democrat neither party stands for what it represented long ago.
Growing up I understood a republican to be someone who was for small government, less taxes, fiscal responsibility, military might, pro gun and anti abortion.
Democrat, was someone who was okay with a large government as long as it had purpose, higher taxes yes, but for the benefit of the people who truly needed social programs, not so much military might but diplomacy and the willingness to use force if needed, pro gun control and pro choice.
Now both parties are so far away from these its amazing. They are just both horrible evil beings that have gotten away from what they once were.

Liberals are for peace and for bringing everyone up, not just the rich.
Conservatives and are known for helping rich people and companies rather than average people. Religious conservatives typically have very dangerous religious (Christian) agendas. Also conservatives are very pro-war, especially if it's against people of a competing religion, like Islam.

It depends on what you think government's role in your life should be. I don't think someone else can answer that for you.
I believe in freedom of choice and a corresponding responsibility for my choice.
I like civic freedom with a corresponding civic responsibility.
I like the idea of smaller government, but a strong military.
I like the idea of freedom to worship as I please.
I like the idea of enjoying the fruit of my own labor, not socialism.
I do not believe it is the government's job to take care of my child and me.
I vote republican nationally. I vote for the person, locally.

It's very simple.
If you believe that the government should provide for all your needs, and in return, you should pay them for it in the form of taxes, then you are a Democrat and should vote for Hillary Clinto who will put universal health care into effect.
If you believe that you should provide your own needs, and want the government to leave your money to your discretion such that you succeed on your own, and are willing to run the risk of failing on your own, you are a Republican.

i am a republican at heart, but with all the garbage, lies and deceit that the bush whitehouse is playing, i am slowly moving towards becoming an independent. they never should've mixed politics and religion. as far as my mentor's...... google search John McCain of Arizona and Colin Powell... two of the last remaining good guys in politics....

If you believe in personal responsibility then you are a Republican or an independent.
If you believe that everything that happens to you is someone else’s fault then you are a Democrat.

Very simple:
If you work for a living, you are a Republican.
If you draw welfare and never plan on getting a job, you are a Democrat.
