Depending on where you at. Sandles might be okay for FL or HI but not okay for NYC, for example. To be safe, dress more conservatively.

Here is some general guideline from my experience working in many major cities including NYC and London.

Man -
dress shirt no tie, or collared shirt.
dress pants or khaki pants
no open toe shoes

Woman -
dress, skirt or pants
no sneakers. nice canvas shoes might be okay depending on what else you are wearing
no exposing mid-section
no jeans

For him:
Khaki's (or other colored casual pants) and a polo or button up conservative shirt (no loud colors/patterns, but also no jacket or tie).
For her:
Same as a man, with more options. Knee length skirts, capri's, or pants. Polo's or other casual tops.

In other words, not dressy at all, but no-no's include jeans, tee shirts, athletic shoes, and anything not in good condition. You still want to look nice, but it's an informal look, not a dressy one.

Something a step up from jeans. A casual dress or skirt, a pair of khakis and a nice shirt and some shoes other than gym shoes, maybe some strappy sandals or a casual pair of shoes for a guy.

No Jeans, but some sort of pants you can wear with dressy shoes. You'll be able to figure out the top from there.

Casual, no jeans, but slacks a nice shirt and vest, or shirt and jacket/sweater. Better to look a little put together than feel under-dressed.

Khakis and a polo shirt will work fine. Biz casual basically means comfy, but no jeans, shorts, or tee shirts. You can even wear sneakers.

Dress shirt, no tie or jacket, and a clean pair of fancy pants that are what you normally wear to church or a restaurant.
