I already asked this question before, but...
If Brett came back for the TD record, he'd most likely have wanted to be traded to a team in a weak division (AFC South/West). But, he just wants to play, and he loves Green Bay and wants to play there.
Anyone who says his career is over only need to take a look at his stats and compare them to the rest of the league's. He's better than half the starting QB's in the NFL right now, not just statistically (can't argue with stats) but generally.
Hell, Brett is probably the best QB in the NFC North! (Grossman went from being one of the most underrated to overrated QB's in a span of three weeks. Johnson is accurate, but has no arm and gets sacked too much. Kitna is decent, underrated, but plays for a horrible, horrible team. Favre has no offensive line and he still is making plays.
To answer the question, no Brett's not doing it for the record, he owns enough records anyway. But he definately will get the record this year. He's got 13 games to throw 20 TD's, and has so much better recievers this year with Driver, Jennings and Robinson.

No, I think he knows he can still play at the NFL level and play
well. Look at how he played against the Lions on Sunday. He
is still a better option for the Pack than Aaron Rodgers is at this
point. Rodgers can still learn from Brett Favre. If he was stinking up the joint on a consistent basis, I think he would have hung it up a long time ago. His competitive drive will make it difficult for him to
hang it up anytime soon. I guess that is one similarity he has with Dan Marino.

No, he probably really thinks he still has some throws left in him. It's hard to admit that you are getting older and can be replaced by someone younger. I like Brett Favre and the Packers though, but I do think he needs to hang it up after this year.

he did'nt come back for the record...much like Jerry Rice he kept playing because he is a competitor that feels that he can continue to play at a high level...he just isn't ready to hang it up.
As for the record, he may get it, may not...but if you saw the post game interview yesterday he said that he didn't really care about getting 400 (then some), he just wanted to get the W. So I wouldn't look for him to just air it out all year to take down the record instead look for him to try and control the game and keep GB as close to the playoffs by getting W's not TD's.

He had to. That would be the only logical reason. The man has lost his stuff. If he were smart he would have retired two or three years ago. Unfortunately, older players now can't keep up with the fresh legs an hands of the younger ones. Now he will be remebered for his last couple of years. It is a shame.
RIP BRETT

I personally feel that this record doesn't mean that much to Farve. He is back to try to end his career on an up note rather than the crappy season he had last year. Unfortunately, Green Bay has done nothing to help him out this year and he will likely have very similar stats this year to last year.

Yes he can. I mean, he has what, six so far this year? And 13 more games just in the regular season. So he can do it by Thanksgiving, by Halloween if he tries. Don't know if that's why he came back. Maybe he just loves the game.

ABSOLUTELY NOT. ANYONE WHO WATCHES NFL FOOTBALL WOULD KNOW THAT BRETT FAVRE IS NOT ABOUT STATS. HE IS A HIT YOU IN THE MOUTH COMPETITOR, AND IS ALL ABOUT WINNING. HE CAME BACK BECAUSE HE DOESN'T KNOW THE MEANING OF THE WORD "QUIT".

I'm a Bears fan, I hope he comes back again next season. He owes it to the Bears fans after beating up all those years to take his lumps now.
