now that i have your attention, I have been noticing since being inhere afew things that i'd just like to pass along, and collect comments on. The 'hot women' ALWAYS are of the opinion that guys only want sex> perspective(theirs) while the "normal women" seem to have a much more realistic view of things. Those who defend democrat ideas are more likely to 'call names', engage in character assasination (instead of debating merits of ideas) right or wrong-for this please state pol. affiliation, then yes or no. Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed that the further left a womans politcal leaning, the less clothing she's wearing in her pictures-(thought left was women's libber, female power etc. party) And finally, am I the only Libertarian in here?....8(

I think you got it a bit backwards. For the most part, liberals want to look at the merits of issues. That's why facts mean so much to us. We are the first to attack liberals that do bad things. Liberals bashed Clinton loudly for his lie. We are also getting on Murtha's case for the corruption of helping out his family on contracts instead of just choosing the best bid. Most of the "name calling" that liberals use is simply pointing out actions and stated beliefs of those in power and observations about people that support the terrible issues that are destroying our country.

The conservatives ask questions on here like "why do liberals all like taking it in the a**?". This is typical of conservative mentality. When you really listen to people like Bill O'Reilley, all you hear is baseless false accusations. Pointing out the actions of a person is not name-calling. It is criticism of policy based on actual evidence. Calling all liberals vegetarian, tree hugging, gay terrorists is just absurd. Less than 10% of liberals are vegetarian, less than 1% are gay (just as many conservtives are gay...not that there is anything wrong with being gay, just making the point), tree hugging is an absurd term meant to denegrate people that like to breathe clean air and drink clean water and eat clean food. Liberals are against violence, so how can we be terrorists?

The National Intelligence Estimate, a classified report containing a consensus view of the 16 governmental spy agencies, states that the Iraq war has worsened the threat of terrorism across the globe. -NY Times

Liberals have always known that harming other people makes them mad at us. Conservatives believe that the people that we have been directly harming for the last century...indeed the last 1 1/2 millenia...don't hate us for that...they hate us because we are free. Come, on! That is just absurd thinking! If we were to formally apologize for what we have done to these people over the last century, work on making ammends and restitution, and stop committing the atrocities, they wouldn't hate us anymore. They might continue to distrust us for a while...for good reason...but they wouldn't see suicide with the taking out of some of the oppressors as the only thing left that they can do for themselves.

For some reason, conservatives seem unable to perceive the concept of cause and effect. You see this in western medicine very clearly. The goal in medicine these days is to treat symptoms so that the cause can be ignored. This is true in politics as well. Noone wants to see what the cause of terrorism is, and work to address the cause, instead of murdering the symptoms, along with whatever is near the symptoms.

This is simple logic. Cause and effect. Let's start honestly identifying the real causes of the problems and work to correct the problem. Once the cause is fixed, the symptoms naturally dissipate. That's all that there is to it, but this requires thought and dedication that I'm afraid that too many people these days don't want to deal with. Band-aids make it so you don't have to think...just react.

I do not subscribe to ONE political party, as the US is very poor in debating issues (which I prefer) and excellent in polarizing people and issues in a way that serves party politics (and no one else).

As for the clothing (or lack thereof), you obviously don't look at the skirts Ms. Coulter wears for her TV appearances (although I'm not sure which way she leans outside of politics).

You are obviously remarking on the media campaign to glamorize even the most remotely attractive female actress by having her don LESS clothing for some type of publicity or coverage of the next show of hers that is soon to be cancelled. This is to sell WHAT you can, WHEN you can on TV or in film, and nothing more. If monk frocks and sandals got high-volume searches on the internet, we'd be watching Desperate Hermits or American Idolatry on TV, while stars or contestants did their best to cover every inch of skin and actually ENTER a church once a year.

Media & Entertainment is a bastion of non (or anti) Christian ideals and sentiments, and you will more often find God/Jesus trampled upon in film, television and literature then you would in normal, every day life. So either art does not mimic life, or THEIR art is not really art at all, but pure, base, lowest common denominator entertainment.

I think the 'hottest' women are those who are internally AND externally attractive, because they capture much more of your attention bandwidth (Can you imagine having to TALK to a pole dancer for the four hours you are there? They'd lose customers by the millions).

Some people DESERVE to be called names, because their interests are self-serving and their political discourse is to sell advertisement and gain viewer/readership, not necessarily to serve the best interests of our nation or mankind.

And living in L.A., I can tell you that if you do not subscribe to the 'cause du jour' or Air America relief fund, you are an outcast who can't get a job in the M&E industry, for the most part (unless you can churn millions out of the story of Christ, as Monsieur Gibson had done, until he ticked off half of Hollywood).

There is a fascism in the U.S. that is double-edged. On one side, you must be a Bible-thumping hypocrite who is either Pro-Bush or on the express shuttle to pergatory, or you're a NY/LA Times thumping hypocrite who is either Anti-Bush or on the express shuttle to the unemployment line.

America is no longer a concept and ideal for all to embrace. It's become the dartboard for the FAR left, and the political weapons testing site for the FAR right. It's become nothing it was before and nothing we would like it to remain for the future. As we attempt to defend ourselves from external attack, we succeed only in tattering Old Glory in the process. I can only hope that the political environment and the (hopefully) worthy candidates of '08 can bring this nation together again, because the US civil war in the making will make Iraq's look like a water balloon fight.

the Hot women vs. Normal women thing isn't just in here, it's reality also... but this is probably because the Hot ones are the ones that get hit on by dkhead guys that only want to screw them... I'm a Republican, but fairly moderate.... Most of the dems that yell and call names do so because they don't have anything positive to add... and as for the left wing women...I agree, but perhaps it's because conservatives tend to be more religious and well... more conservative... I don't know what a libertarian is...
