I wonder if it is enough only putting a memory stick in the slot and restart your computer and do your work. Is that right or do I need a kind of conigeration.

Generally, it is not necessary to reconfigure a computer when putting a new chip in the memory slot. The BIOS on the computer will count the memory as the machine boots up (on the black and white screen before windows starts). If your machine hangs when trying to boot after installing the memory, you probably haven't put the chip in firmly (but gently, gently) or the slot might be bad or the memory might even be bad; however, I would guess human errror first and remove the chip and put it back in.

nope as soon as u plug in the RAM into the dimm/ddr socket and turn on the pc the machine will automatically address the new RAM and your machine will improve in speed.

dosen't usually need a reconfig.... but do check the bios
