my boyfriend and i have been together about a year now and he has proposed to me. weve been friends forever, we even went to the same highschool but he was married before we were together a part of me is scared that he may still have feelings for her or may still love her ...how do i find out or should i just let it go because im afraid that i may not been good enough...anyone else ever dealt with this same problem? help me please

My husband has a ex-wife and have dealt with the feelings you are. It has caused a great deal of issues in our marriage because I felt he still wanted to be with his ex. All me did was fight. Because I was insecure. Things only got better when his ex-wife got a boyfriend. I then felt at least she had moved on. Now in my situation thought there is a child. And my husband told me he will always love her for the little boy she gave him. You really need to follow your heart. If you truly love him then let it go. Don't let doubt be in your mind at all. He has chosen you to be with and that makes you good enough. I wish you the best of luck sweetheart.

You just have to trust your gut instincts on this one. First off, accept the fact that he had been married before, and that he has a past that doesn't include you. It's not a big deal in and of itself, just don't let this fact bug you too much. I don't know how long ago these two got divorced; if it was a while ago, I wouldn't worry about it terribly much. There's no test to administer to him to measure how much "feelings" he still has for his ex. Sounds to me that you're being insecure - but it's your problem, not his.

I guess you will never know. The only way to be sure is to get a guy who is free and clear, not married before, and no kids. That's what I made sure I married - we had our own clean start together.
