Is there anything more painful than finding out your spouse has cheated on you?

In a very short time you guys have made me feel better. This is not the end of my world. And I agree - if anything were to happen to my son it would destroy me.

Thanks

Yes there is. But a cheating spouse is a very painful thing. And it's a very hard thing to get over. I think as far as something being more painful is if something terrible ever happened to my kids. You can always move on from a relationship but kids are never replaceable.

The only thing I can think of, is finding out that your spouse cheated and is having someone elses baby or finding out that they lied about having another family out there.

it is painful to find that your spouse is cheating on you because my spouse has done it before and I was hurt for a while but i got over after a year.

Yes. Raising children brings a wider range of emotions than marriage. My husband considers it unfaithful if I talk behind his back or try to belittle him. He would prefer that I have sex with someone than that. Personally, all that I expect is that he supports me emotionally, is kind, caring and attentive. He has had flings, and so have I. But we never argue and have lots of fun together/

Death comes to mind. I think death of a spouse would be the most painful thing.

Not at the time but let me tell you, from experience there is worse hurt than that out there. You can only pray that this is the worst you ever experience. But I really do believe what they say is true, what doesn't kill you will only make you stronger.

Finding out that he cheated with your best friend, mother or sister. Hang in there!

it must be painful - especially if you never saw it coming - try not to let it destroy you - it's them, not you - i have dated a few men who were cheated on and they just can't get over it - their lives are literally ruined and they are unable to commit to anyone else cause of their fear of getting deeply hurt again.
