my co worker went away for th eweekend and before she left she called me to tell me that if anyone called for her she was just off from work so her boyfriend called and i told him where she went and she got mad at me she never said him in specific not to let him know where she was now its the two of us in a big office not speaking to each other i think she is acting childish

She specifically told you if anyone called for her, "she was off from work," not "where she was going." "Anyone" is just that. You are not her bf's secretary so for whatever her reason for not wanting anyone to know anything except that she "was off from work," that is exactly what you should have said to him.
I would be upset, too. Apologize. It might ease the tension in the office.
Lesson learned.

I would tell her that her boyfriend shouldn't be calling her at work anyway. It's unprofessional. Private calls should be made on her own time. (not that I really believe that, I just would have said it!)

be the bigger man, go talk to her. tell her see you didn't do anything to spite her, she didn't say not to tell him. the longer you don't talk to her, the harder it will be to do so later. can you imagine a few years from now, when you'll be trying to figure out why you guys haven't spoken to each other in 5 years! the reason would sound pretty lame then, believe me. end it now.

If you told him because you thought he'd knew then she shouldn't get mad..but if you told him out of spite or just to be mean then of course I'd be mad...Oh well tell her that you are not her personal secretary..too bad.

Well, if I were you, I would have thought it was ok too,.... I would have thought she was going with him,... so I am sure I would have dont the same MISTAKE. Either way, it remains a mistake. I would try to work things out, since you do have to work 2gether
