when i worked at a rec centre the most enjoyable project was painting a car!! we used washable crayola's and let them paint the car. we of course got paint all over us and afterwards the leaders just wash the paint off...no damage done. it's awesome!

Well what i used to really enjoy when i was little was treasure hunts with clues to follow! That is a group activity, cheap to run and a lot of fun too! The older children can read the questions and the younger ones can help finding the "treasure"!

Plant some sun flower seeds. Make biscuits. Read a scary story. Go for a walk and discover what nature has to offer and bring some things back and create a collage.

take them to a local climbing indoor climbing wall if there is one in your local area they will almost certainly offer a discount for a child care group. It builds confidence in all age groups it good exercise and its safe the staff do all the work while you shout encouragement and drink tea. also give your local fire station a ring and speak to the station officer about a visit either at the station or at your place of work the kids will love it

Well for the 11 year olds no gay happy kiddy stuff. No. Give them a computer, Counter-strike, and LAN connection. They will have a blast. And for the younger kids, give them some crayons and paper and they will have the time of their lives.
Have a good day. =)

sell popcorn and lemon aid, have them make up a play, find some paper bags with handles and decorate their Halloween bags, have them make a pinata with balloons and newspaper paper machete, have them write letters or draw pictures to send to children in other states or countries, have them make get well cards to give to other children in the hospital, have the older ones teach the younger ones some tumbling moves, hope you like some of these ideas!

maybe you could get them excited about planting some peas and watching them grow and then plant them out in the yard somewhere.
When i was that age i thought it was awesome to grow something from a seed and watch it grow.... plus its helping the environment and making them aware at the same time.
