Might be your mind is somewhere else and trying to compare that character with the person you like.. being fade up from that character. don't forget everyone is special in their hearts some kind of way..just find out their speciality and try to understand and adjust with them...it's gonna be same thing to whom you live with long while...you'll see everything beautiful and lovable from faraway...

It isn't up to us to change anyone. If someone is unsatisfied with their life they need to look at why they are discontent. The problem is with themselves. Do they have unrealistic expectations of others? Are they disappointed that things don't go the way they want them to? If that is the case, they need to get some help and work on those things.

Well, patience, as they say, is a virtue. Decide if this person is valuable enough for you to spend time satisfying. If he/she isnt, then just move on mate! It could be a character trait or simply a way for someone to grab some attention.

I would just ask that person why is that person not making me happy. If that person doesn't want to answer you, then it is best not to talk to that person because your self esteem would be lowered. Hope it isn't a family member.
