Because polar bears live in the arctic (in the north hemisphere) and penguins live in the antarctic (in the southern hemisphere) this means that they never even get close to each other and so the polar bear is no threat whatsoever to the penguins.

Because they are at different ends of the planet. Polar bears live in the Artic and penguins live in Antarctica. And at zoos, they are kept in separate habitats so they can't. Polar bears live in Alaska, Canada, Russia, Denmark (Greenland), and Norway. Polar bears do not live in the southern hemisphere. No penguins live actually at the South Pole but two species do live on the edges of the Antarctic continent. The islands of the antarctic and sub-antarctic support the largest number of species, there are several species that live in temperate climates and one at the equator (the Galapagos penguin). No penguins live in the northern hemisphere.

They live on different poles - penguins (South), polar bears (North).
Polar Bears are the top of the food chain at the North Pole - they can eat anything.

I think they would eat penguins if they could. chances are they are too hard to catch or they live elsewhere. plus seals probably taste better and provide more of the fat content that the bears would need.
