DBA is Doing Business As - or "business name." It is different from a business license

Not all businesses will require a business license but if you will conduct business using a name other than your name, then you need to file a DBA. If you want to start a blog earning from advertising, you can register your business as MYBLOG COMPANY (which is your DBA) but you will not be required to get a business license (no state requires blogs to be licensed)

Go to your county or city clerk's office and file for business name registration. In some states, you can do this online - but you did not mention your state so I am unable to provide you with a more direct response
