Any garden center or nursery will have a good selection of smooth rocks.

I really can't help you, because I am half way across the country, but when I need rocks, we go to Lake Michigan, and collect so many at the beach, buckets full. Is there some place like that? The rocks we get are soft, and round from the waves, and ready for polishing.
