I don't, I wonder the exact same thing even about my friends. People love to be busy because it makes them feel important and prevents them from thinking. The less you have to think the more blissful you are and the world falls apart because everyone is to caught up in their own concerns.

Not me..I couldn't care less...let everyone else stress themselves to death! Life is too precious.
I put in my time..worked like a dog since I was 11...got my house paid for by 30 before I even met my hubby...so now I am enjoying my family, kids and work part time from home. I love being able to do what I want when I want and have no desire to be a part of that rat race anymore. I'm not saying it's easy. You have to do without a lot of things, but we do great, better than most with way too much money that they know what to do with!
People just work and throw all their money away on stupid things like clothes that are in this season and out the next and end up just raising spoiled bratty kids and the parents end up burnt out, miserable and pooped and for what? So they can clean someone's teeth all day or push paper? Nobody came running or caring about me after 20 years with the same company...they downsized, that was that, and life went on without you...that's when I realized you better make your days count. One day whammo...you're a cold stiff in a coffin and what will they say about you? Who will even care. Just live your life and do what you can for those you love.
You waste more money on stupid material things, and if people slowed down, took the time to cook decent meals for themselves and their kids, and spend some quality time together the world would be a better place.
And I'm not saying we're not busy, my kids are into everything...sports, music, clubs, camps--it's all time management and a nice balance but we don't spend money on things that are trivial and that they or we can do without...and that takes a load off big time.

I dont think its that everyone exactly likes to be busy all the time its just that the whole idea of the modern world is designed so that most of us have to be very busy, most of us cant help it, we live in a fast paced soceity, a fast paced life, and we are kind of programmed like that, most of us arent used to haveing a free moment for nothing, so thats why if people slow down or stop for something they dont know what to think or do with themselves because they are not used to it.

I like to be busy because I am bored right now. I was suppose to be working, but now I am still on the waiting list from the agencies that I registered with. It is no fun being unemployed and serching for the right position. I relax only on the weekends, but other then that, I like to keep busy.

I think it is the feeling of being useless that make people act like busy, I hate that as well, for me it is more smart like to be a cold easygoing guy than been an annoying busy one...

I like not being busy especially at home. Just sit back and relax, the world wont fall apart.
But at work I like to be semi busy, time goes faster that way.

Easier said than done. Many of us do not choose to be busy but that is just the facts of life. The older you get, the more responsibilities you have to take care of and not so much time to do it all in.

I am not busy at all, but I would love to be constantly busy. It would make the work day go so much faster.

I hate being busy! how busy I am is inversely proportional to how happy I am! I love having free time! I wish I was a millionaire so I could retire at a young age and not have to be busy!
