Working weekend evenings in a petrol station - brain dead and also chance to become dead;
Held up twice (one guy had two pieces of copper pipe painted black to look like a shotgun barrel but would you know that when facing them - he just took £100 and cigarettes!), plenty of drive-offs and kids who sneak on, take the pump triggers from the pumps and splash the petrol remnants around 'for a laugh' while striking matches!
Add to this having the sand-buckets thrown through the windows by a guy who was banned from using the place and a bus driver from a nearby depot who crashed into the forecourt.
Only thing that made up was the coffee machine on the counter and 'snack' allowance if working till midnight (anything from the shop inc the hot food dispensers!).

I had a job one summer between college semesters flagging on the road on a construction project. It was awful because the crude construction workers were always yelling and screaming and harrassing me (and the other flagger). Also, even though I was wearing bright orange reflective clothing and was holding a huge stop sign amidst a construction zone with cones and the whole nine yards, I almost got run over many times. The idiots on the roads don't pay attention and almost hit me several times. One time, I literally had to dive off the side of the road to avoid getting creamed. It was a crappy job, full of rude men and incompentent drivers almost killing me. We had to use a filthy port-o-potty and no handwashing facilities... and the pot got tipped over every week. Talk about filthy conditions, especially during the week of your period! The days were long, on your feet the whole time in the sun. It was rotten, but it paid really well because of prevailing wage. It was another reminder of why I had to do well in college and strive for a different career!

One of my first "real" jobs was bar-tending at a small shot and beer place in my hometown. The pay was awful, the customers were all perverted drunks, and the boss was mean. She would fire me or I would quit at least once a month. I still get anxious when I get called to the bosses office, and I have not worked for this woman in 8 years. One time she fired me and I did not answer my phone for 2 days, she came over my house knocked on the door and then sat on my couch until I took a shower and went to work for her. I worked with her for 10 years because I was afraid to leave. Then when I finally quit she did not talk to me ever again. She was old and stubborn. When she died I felt bad because I never got closure.

My worst job was when I was between jobs and took a job at a deli in a gallery type place that also has a lot of other small shops and business in the place.
The people that I attended to were rude, obnoxious, impatient and down-right mean! I thought to myself, why are these people acting like this! If someone was waiting on me, I would have the decency to be kind and say thank-you for the service. But I must have been waiting on savages with no class!

When my children were at school, the only job l could get during school hours, at the time, was in a dry cleaners , steaming the creases out of clothes. lt was a very hot summer and there was no air conditioning . The combination of the hot steam and the smell of chemicals which they used on stains was overpowering. l stuck it out for two months as l needed the money, (which was pi$$ poor) but left because it made me feel so ill.

i've got worked for 2 poor human beings like your guy - i be attentive to the way sturdy that first breath of unfastened air feels once you walk out that door!! yet i might could say my worst activity become while i become youthful in a distinctive u . s . with out funds and worked in a warehouse pulling plastic bags off individual products of clothing that have been then trucked to the dept shops. The worst bit become the develop of static electrical energy - so each and every time you by twist of destiny touched the coat hangers or steel rack you will possibly get a brilliant zap. and you by twist of destiny touched them lots!!

I worked in a pizzeria as a hostess, cashier and salad maker. I was so busy and stressed all the time and to make matters worse I was being sexually harrased by the other workers. Such as butt grabbing, rude comments, puting money in my pants. I was making alright money but i ended up quiting right away. I did not want to work where I was being disrespected all the time.

one summer in college i worked in a factory which
made lining material for steel furnaces,
it was a powdery material which came out of spouts
and we caught it in 70 pound bags
even tho we wore [paper] masks the stuff was flyin all over,
even an idiot knew the masks were pretty useless
it was like a scene from hell--all these guys in masks and
dust covered overalls moving around in a deadly fog
icing on the cake,,,,,this powder is embedded with
fine particles of glass, just the thing u need for ur lungs

Summer job working in a canteen at an amusment park. Hot as hell in that kitchen and the public can be such messy, disgusting people when they don't have to clean up. One summer was enough.
