once my hair is dry it takes me about 30 minutes to straighten it and put on some makeup. Add another 10 minutes for shower so about 45 minutes - i'm not one of those people who takes hours getting ready.

Hmmm, this is an interesting question.
Well, for the Homecoming dance last week, it probably took me about two hours total to get ready. This was only because I did my hair in sponge rollers, but it didn't look right with my new haircut, so I decided to wear it straight... and had to start over. Make-up doesn't take long because I have fair skin and therefore wearing too much make-up just looks funny.
If not for the hair fiasco, I probably would have been ready in 30-45 minutes total.
The scary thing is, I think that's a pretty short amount of time, for a girl. ^^;

Female answer - the last black tie ball I attended - 15 minutes. I was quicker than my date!

I'd add another 10-20 min if I was going to wear my hair up. I have straight elbow-length hair that I usually wear loose for formal occasions.

I would say about 2 hours from start to finish.
But this includes hair make up shower and putting on cloths (cos i am not going out in my birthday suit).

Brummie Geeza i like this question nice to see some bloke take as long as blokets lol

Usually its about 20 mins for school, but if it was something big, probably about 40 - 50 mins. Does that help?
