At the school I teach at they are considered the same.

no Advance Algebra would be the course after Algebra 2 .
Algebra 3 or Trigonometry. Then Calculus. For H.S. graduation purposes (college bound) You need all 3. Alg.I,II,III, and Geometry.

I don't think so. Algebra 2 is a course to follow Algebra 1 where as advanced algebra would most likely be a faster paced version of algebra1

Algebra 2 is a second semester freshman math course. Advanced Algebra is a fifth and sixth semester math course, taken after geometry.

Depends on the school -- different schools might mean different things by "Alg 2" vs. "Advanced Alg" -- but in general they are probably the same thing. Both classes require Algebra as a prerequisite.

I never took "advanced algebra" in college... calc 1,2,3,4 and advanced calculus was the series.
