Depends on how good he was. Five sounds pretty reasonable, but if you don't like it much then go down from there.

I usually leave about 2 to 5 bucks. But now, I do my manicures and pedicures at home because I realize I'm pretty good at it and don't want to pay like 50 bucks to get my nails done.

15% is standard for beauty and spa services, more if they do a really great job. The only time I don't tip is if they are really terrible.

To the non-tipper below... remember that most people in the service industry make less than minimum wage because it is expected that they will get tips. If you feel that the salon is too expensive go to a beauty school where you can get treatments for much less.

I work at a spa, typically most people leave any where from $3 to $5 as a tip.

If they do a good job your suppose to leave 20% to 15%. So I would leave a $7.00 to a $9.00 tip. Sounds like a lot but your not required to leave that much.

if its one u go to all the time and they are good always give a $5 tip if not $2 . Remember girls finding a good manicurist is just as hard as finding a good gyne. When we do we want to keep them happy

if the same person does both and they do a good job i tip anywhere from 7-10 dollars, they will remember you and when you go there again they will want you again and continue to do a good job and throw in little design and stuff for free.

I would say $3-5. It's totally up to you.
