Stem Cell Research is a very complicated subject. I feel this is a subject that has been taken into the political arena and then dumped out with the thousands of cells that could be retrieved from aborted fetuses everywhere. However, our government feels it is better to just dispose of the much needed and debatable cells along with the fetuses that are already being given up.

However, there is still a chance for Stem Cell Research to make the amazing discoveries that have already been seen - it just will not be in the USA. Thank goodness for the countries that are willing to take the extra steps to save lives.

Adult stem cell research -- all for it

Embryonic stem cell research -- I have moral objections to it

I'm not even religious at all, but I do have a deep respect for life and I think embryonic stem cell research is wrong. I find it abhorrent that humans are created for the sole purpose of experimentation.

Also, more progress (if not all progress) has been made with adult stem cells, not embryonic. The problem is that pharmaceutical companies can't get a patent on adult stem cells (the cells belong to an actual living person), but they can on embryonic stem cells, so there's a disgusting greed aspect to the companies wanting to focus on unproven embryonic stem cell research vs. proven adult stem cell research.

Agree.

Stem Cells are not human beings. The claim that they are is just a ridiculous attempt to save a bad argument.

Fully agree with the research since aborted babies will no longer be used. I forecast that as a result of this research, medicine will improve more in the next ten years than in all it's previous history. Experts are already talking about all allergies being curable within three years. The advances will be phenomenal with wonders beyond current man's imagination being discovered monthly............. All you young people have a wonderful future ahead of you if you look after your health.....
