I'm tryin to burn a CD to play in my car. When i burn .wav files, they don't play in my car, but do in my computer. Do i need to burn mp3 files in order for them to play in my car?

audio cds aren't just a bunch of wav files. there's a specific audio cd format, which is what you need to use.
When you burn it as an audio cd, it puts extra stuff on the cd that the cd player can read and take instruction from.
Your computer is obviously "smarter" than your cd player, that's why it can play wavs.

Find a burning program that burns audio cds. Nero will turn almost any format into an audio cd, but you have to choose "audio cd"

It has to be burnt as an "Audio CD". You have the option in Windows Media Player. Pick your songs, make sure when you go to burn the cd it is marked "Audio CD" and Windows Media Player will automatically convert them for you. If you have a Car stereo that plays MP3, then you can choose "MP3 Data CD".

Hope this helps.

use Nero to burn an audio cd not an mp3 cd or a data cd.
If it will play in your car, the files will be ".cda" instead of mp3 or wav
