I usually put it up at the beginning of December and take it down after "little Christmas" ... if I could, I would leave it up all year. Gotta love the holidays!

I enjoy it as much as I can so I put a natural tree usually on the last week of November. Wooohoooo!!!! I love the smell and look of a real Christmas tree.

I would say a week before is nice. But I think in English-speaking countries (at least in America and England), people tend to put it up earlier than that.

I went to a big store in central London 2 weeks ago (we are in September, remember) and they are already selling christmas trees and decoration, etc. That's just annoying!

We've used real trees all my life, even now that I'm married, so no more than 2 weeks prior. And it's perfectly fine to take it down on Jan. 2nd. Some of those babies just don't last. The smell nice though.
