I'm a metal head, and I can give a number of bands for any metal genre, but the distinctions between these three styles escapes me.

RAP - NWA - F the police, drugs, violence, guns, gov't talk mostly anti gov't

R&B - USHER - my g/f left me for this other dude, girls like me, 1 out of 100 songs a guy might like

HIP-HOP - BLACK EYE PEAS - here you can dance to me, you hear me @ parties, clubs, radio etc...

well rap is rap and r&B is more like a hip hop slow love song and hip hop is more of dance music

Rap is basically talking or rhyming to a beat. R&B which stands for rhythm and blues is more sultry and songful. There's a lot more singing in R&B.

Rap is basically poetry, R&B is a classic (I think),and hip-hop is like dancing to a beat.

yes, R&B is actually music...the other 2 are not.
