My son is 7 months old. He rolls over but doesnt sit up for long. My daughter sat up and walked at early age. Everyone is telling me something is wrong with him. I dont think so, but wanted to get some other opinions.

No, nothing is wrong with your son. Other people often like to impress their opinions on us and how we raise our children because they feel they always know best. Every child is different. My first daughter was sitting up on her own by seven months, whereas my nine month old just now is sitting up all by herself and for longer periods of time. Don't worry... as long as your pediatrician is not worried, you shouldn't be either. Practice sitting up with your son, but he'll come around on his sweet little own.

PLEASE DON'T LISTEN TO THOSE NEGATIVE PEOPLE. When I was 4 months pregnant, I was told by doctors that my baby would be retarded. They said she'd have a rare chromosome disorder due to part of one of her chromosomes missing. I heard nothing positive at all. I was stressed out! After I had her, I was still stressing, thinking of all the negative things that I had been told. Whenever she didn't do something that according to doctors and books "babies her age should be doing"...I got worried. She didn't talk, scoot, crawl, pick up objects or anything else that "babies should have been doing at her age". I didn't go out with her my other friends who have babies her age, because I they were crawling, talking, dancing and doing everything else I THOUGHT she should be doing too. It made me sad, and I was kinda jealous, and always thinking...Why isn't MY child doing that?? I finally got a doctor who told me that NOT ALL BABIES DO THE SAME THING AT A CERTAIN AGE. They do things when THEY get ready. Once I understood that and stopped worrying about every little thing that she wasn't doing according to "what's normal for most babies", I was okay! My baby is healthy and almost 2 years old now! She does a whole lot, and I can't even keep up with her! She has her own personality, and does things when SHE wants! NOT when everybody else wants her too. Your baby will be just fine. So stop worrying, and enjoy your baby actually being a baby! He'll be all grown up before you know it...and you'll wonder what happened to the time?!

There is nothing wrong with your son.
My daughter rolls all over the floor but when I sit her up, she only stays like that for a few seconds and then will fall backwards or forwards and she is 8 month sold. My son was the same way.
All it means is that your baby will all of a sudden sit up by himself and start to crawl or pull himself up all at the same time. Instead of him doing it a little at a time, he will end up doing it all at once.
Don't let anyone tell you something is wrong. Nothing is wrong.
People tend to want to rush babies to much. They will learn everything at there own pace. There not babies for long, so don't rush it.

Don't listen to what other people are telling you.. No two babies are the same..they develop and progress at different stages, your son will sit when he feels more confident in doing so!!

If you are really worried speak to your health visitor of GP don't listen to friends, family etc..follow your own instinct.

I have 3 children, my son sat when he was 9 months old (typical lazy boy).. my eldest daughter was 7 months old and my youngest was also sitting by 7 months

If I was you I would not worry at this stage wait a month and if he is still not sitting speak to your GP.

All the best

I don't think you should be concerned yet. I have a 7 month old foster daughter & she just started sitting up for a few minutes by herself & she'll be 8 months tomorrow. Not to worry!

There is absolutely nothing wrong with your son. Dont take to heart what other people say, my daughter was not sitting up until 9 months, and now at 10 months, she is pulling herself up and trying, with little success, to stand on her own. He's just learning things at his own pace and will catch on soon I'm sure.

My son is 6 1/2 months and is not sitting up at all yet. I am worried about him but his doctor says that every baby is different and will reach milestones in their own time. I don't think there is anything wrong with him, some babies (like mine, lol) are just lazy! :)

All babies are different they start doing different things at different times. Don't ever let anyone worry you about your child. Your doctor should be telling you what to expect from your baby. If it's really worrying you consult your pediatrition. sometimes other parents want to make their babies sounds special example: "my little johny was walking at 9 months" most babies don't walk until they're about a year old so this makes their kid look smarter or more special.

My son was born when my neice was two months old. Girls tend to accomplish things like this quicker and it was very hard to see my neice WALKING when my son was just starting to crawl! Every baby developes at his own pace. My son didn't start walking til he was 13 months, and is MUCH less clumsy than my neice. He is 5 now and does everything and more than my neice does. He'll be fine!

NOOO!! My baby is 8 months and he is chunky so he barely getting the hang of trying to crawl, but at 7 months he was doing the same thing as your baby. Dont worry, he will get there.
