You cant do so because the firewall used in the universities are much more powerful and secured and there is no way you are getting past that unless you have administrator access to tthat firewall it is usually used using https protocols which can never be hacked

Dont listen to these old folks they dont know anything about web proxy's.Where there's a will there's a way.Trust me they work unless they have already been blocked.

Why would you do that? Using a Proxy to bypass their blockers more thank likely violates their Electronic Use policy... you will get caught.
