This is crazy and must be stopped.
Granted Bush, like McCarthy holds power by scaring people to death. But some people never learn.

Huh? Doesn't sound true. McCarthy was a drunken bum who ruined the long and steadfast work of the HUAC and Congressional committees with his publicity-seeking self-serving actions. I seriously doubt there is any big clamoring for a statue for him.
As for the ludicrous comparison between McCarthy and Bush, that shows a complete ignorance of both - the two are in no ways alike. McCarthy is more comparable to the self-serving self-declared 'hero' John Kerry.
You seem to have been infected with the DNC-Dean lunacy.

Senator McCarthy made his career to destroy the lives of Americans during the 1950's. He lied about his military record had little no respect from members of the Senate. Accused Eisenhower being soft on Communism. Most of the time he was drunk while in the Senate. This man deserves no respect let alone a statue. But knowing the Republican party they will claim as hero.

It sounds like a stupid idea to me. Both Democrats and Republicans eventually realized that blacklisting/witch-hunting were bad ideas. The idea that McCarthy deserves honor for being anti-communist is silly. Communism was/is a bad ideology, but McCarthy made it more difficult to defeat Communism by using the label without discretion.

BTW, after the fall of the Soviet Union, we found out that over 95% of those he went after were in fact either commie supporters or outright traitors.
