I know this sounds crazy but I have 2 children and have never heard of this before and I am just a little nosey. I read that mother's give this to their infants when they are constipated? My 1 year old sometimes doesn't go for 2 days...just curious if this could help?

Well, you already got the answers about it being for colic, which is true. I also gave it to my daughter who had a very sensitive and gassy stomach. It's totally normal that your one year old doesn't "go" for 2 days though. As long as it's no longer, they can skip a bowel movement for a day. If it still concerns you, feed them more fruits like bananas, grapes and strawberries, just be sure to cut them up well! This should help "guide'n'slide" things through a little more. Good luck!

In many parts of the world, gripe water is widely available and commonly used. For centuries, European households with a new baby would be sure to have a bottle of gripe water on hand for those distressing times when the baby has gas, colic, hiccups, or teething pain.

Try giving your 1 year old fruits and vegetables that are high in fiber. Fiber in your baby's diet will help constipation.

Gripe Water is for colicy babies. It is a mix of Ginger, Fennel and Bicarbonate. A natural alternative to the gas drops. It has worked really well for us. I don't think it helps constipation.

I never heard of it being used for constipation. I have used it for colic. It is available in any pharmacy. Like anything else, ask your doctor.
