Nothing really does have a point, haven't you always known that? The point of species is procreation, and when you think about it that basically means they don't have a point at all. The point of humans is to have kids, and the point of their kids is to have kids etc..

Well that's the thing. God does exist and there is a point to everything. Nothing is a coincidence. Our brains cannot begin to process or comprehend the immense logic and power that God possesses. Everything on this earth, yes even the smallest cell and atom to every single human in the history of the world was made by God and he knows them intimately. Imagine that! Life is a short ride and a test to see how faithful we remain to him. Those who pass the test will live again in the next life to be with him. The only point is to serve him in order to be with him.

This is a question that each person must answer for themselves. However, before we attempt an answer, we must draw out the real meaning of the question.
Beneath this question is the age old riddle: "What is the meaning of life?" We intuitively feel that if life has no meaning there is no "point" to anything. This intuitive feeling is the reason for your question. You are really asking, "If life has no meaning, what's the point of anything?"
The assumption implicit in your question is that if God does exist, God will provide your life with meaning, and therefore things will have a "point."
Now we can restate your question in a form we can hope to answer: "If God does not exist, how can life have meaning?"
At the most basic level, there are two possible attitudes toward life. Which one you choose determines your answer to this question.
One attitude is this: "If the meaning of my life is not established for me by some higher power, my life is meaningless."
The opposite attitude is this: "If the meaning of my life is not established for me by some higher power, I am free to create my own meaning."
Make your choice and you will have your anwer.

as i am typing this i can look out of my window, across the kennet valley and the Berkshire downs. the sunset is beautiful, smokey grey clouds gilded with silver. down in the valley the last rays of the sun are like shimmering gold caught in the black ribbon of the river. my eldest daughter just came in and ask for some money so she can go out for a farewell celebration with her friends before she goes to university. later, after dinner i'm going for a drink or two with some friends, we'll talk about football, sex and politics, we'll joke and probably b***h, in a manly way of course, about someone who ain't there. i'll come home, maybe the worse for wear, and perhaps my wife might be feeling affectionate, i'll probably fall asleep. with some minor variations i'll do this over and over again. this is my life and i'm more or less content. i get my excitment now out of small things like sunsets, the stars, clouds, poetry, art, football, beer and sex, stuff like that. whether there's a god or not don't matter to me. when i die i hope to sleep forever, a dreamless sleep. and if i'm wrong and i burn in hell forever, at least i'll have the eternal consolation that i didn't kowtow to someone so mean and petty. but i'm pretty sure i won't. everyone i know will one day die, their children will have children, and generation after generation will come and go, a river of humanity irrisistable and unstopable will flow into the future. there is no point and every point, but most of all ' to be or not to be'.

Why not ask a bushman in the Kalahari desert. It is immaterial to the millions people that have never even heard of the bible / god etc.
By the way, "God does exist" . What an arrogant remark, nobody knows. I know some people just live for god. Mind you, in the UK some people just live for Coronation Street and they think that's real too!

Everybody has their own God...maybe there is no God for me...maybe u see ur own God...God is the one u feel u need to have, a most powerful and kind one to rely on...maybe some people have no such feeling...it doesn't matter...
The matter is that we get to know the point of all these things, when it's too late, really late... so don't hesitate that there is a point...
Listen to the song "Somewhere I belong" from Linkin Park...it's cool...

If God doesn't exist there is no point in anything... everything has a point, right? Therefore God exists. Simple logic.

Good question. I suggest you consider the answer carefully. Once you realize that there is no point and you're only here because of your parents' selfish genes then you'll realise there's no need for God either.
