I posted a question about a week ago asking how to I begin to sue the state of NC for violating my constitutional rights and possibly defamation of character. The responses were you don't have a chance and get a life etc.

I noticed that those that responded negatively were caucasian. No disrepect but you foks don't have a clue as to the mistreatment of African Americans in this state. NC and VA are way behind in time as far as equal rights for all. Discrimination has run amuck in this place and unfortunately the African American who were born and raised here have accepted the mistreatment and their repsonse is "oh well, thats just the way it is.

Well I don't think so, If by sueing the state all I get is recognition, I will be happy. I want to voice my opinion, I want my opinion to be heard. I want those in the state of NC weather black or white, who has been subjected to the ridiculous judicial system, police, sheriff, courts, etal, in NC, to join me. Class Action perhaps.

Okay to all who do not believe. You can get arrested in NC for the dumbest sh*t. Even though you were found not quilty and the case is dismissed, they plaster your face all over their website for allto see. Now tryt getting a descent apartment or a job for a qualified professional sucj as myself. I am an accountant. Although employers and landlords are not supposed to use this against you - they judge your character. NC needs to stop the nonsense. I have never bben convicted of a crime in my life nor arrested. Here in NC I have been arrested for communicating threats because I called a motorist who hit my car a jack azz, I have been arrested for not having my 8 year old in a booster seat and I question the officer, he didn't like my tone anad arrested me tank God my neighbor was there to take my son. Of course both cases were dismissed but the drama has continued two years later.

First off, I am a caucasian living in NC. And I agree with you 100% that this is an ***-backward state in many regards...including the treatment of African-Americans. But, its not just African-Americans. I relocated from the north and found that they are still fighting the Civil War here. I get "Yankee Go Home" in some way shape or form every day here. I have been harrassed by police, who recognize the window decal on my car of a northern College, for such attrocities as (and I kid you not)...running a GREEN light, not having my dog in a seat belt, suspected insurance fraud and interfereing with traffice for stopping to assist a stalled motorist.

The laws are backward, the politicans are corrupt and if this ain't a inbreded breeding ground for the Klan, I don't know what is.

Now, I don't know the specifics of your claim, but the fact is, that because of all this is why you probably don't have a chance to win such a case. However, I support you. Take it to them and Give'm Hell! Show this pathetic, good 'ol boy network they got runnin' here that things have to change. Good Luck.

Hi there, discrimination continues to run amuck in all races and sexes. I don't know what your initial question was, but, I can assure you that if you look up the information regarding the type of complaint that you have with the state of NC, you will find something similar to it on the internet. Every state is different on just about every issue. And, even though I am a white blonde, I wouldn't steer you wrong .

Why do you want recognition for suing the state?

You have the mentality of a pariah.. You segregate yourself first by labeling yourself African American, then you sue yourself?

In order to sue for defamation, you have to prove you've been defamed by SOMEONE not the state. It would be best to have exact times, dates offenses and witnesses, and you'd sue the person involved.

If you think you were mistreated before-just wait and see what happens if you do file against them.
