As the science developed the subjects name changed.
What I knew as Biology, Zoology, Microbiology, Biochemistry are generally call Life Science.
Science that deal with life or study of life.

Life science is a comprehensive way of saying any science that deals with living things (plants, animals, bacteria).
I work on the Bioastronautics contract at NASA...(the life sciences contract).

life science is actually dealing with a persons life, family,his childrens and his relationship with others.

It's basically the introduction to biology.
Kind of like Earth Science is the intro to Geology.
