2 reasons to support it:
1.) The only 100% way to ensure there will be no repeat offenders. By placing criminals in jail for life, you are putting the guards who much watch them in danger. You are putting the public in danger also because there is the possiblity of escape. You are putting other inmates in danger. Death penalty is only 100% way to ensure a dangerous person will not hurt anybody else.
2.) Justice. If you take $5, then you owe $5. Justice demands that you restore what was taken. However, if you take a life, there is no way to replace that. No amount of time, effort, or money will every bring somebody back to life. The only form of justice for murderers is the death penalty. Nothing else can balance the scales.

The death penality is a sensitive question anywhere in the World. But an alternative way to view this subject may be to answer this question to yourself " What do I really want, a Police State or a Criminal State ".In other words where the death penality does not exist , it seems crime rises very high. But where the death penality exists, the crime rate is rather low, and I guess one can understand why, as no criminal wants to put himself at risk of dying , by committing serious crimes, but on the other hand, if he knows he will never face the death penality, he is more likely to commit serious crimes as murder & manslaughter.Personally I do not agree with the death penality, but taking all this into account, if I had to vote on it, I would go for the death Penality , and prefer a Police State , compared to a Criminal State.

professional: outdoors of significant treason, i do not somewhat see any reason to placed juveniles to death. I believe the previous posting. The prefrontal cortex does no longer completely advance till early to mid 20s reckoning on the gender. The prefrontal cortex is the component of the mind charged with "perfect vs. incorrect" and inhibition administration. to placed a baby or juvenile to death will be to punish, contained in the worst way, an action which may no longer be completely understood through the criminal. this will be equateable to pleading "no longer responsible through reason of madness" the position the criminal ought to no longer delight in his or her moves.

Although I personally don't believe in the death penalty I do understand its role. It is there to be a deterrent to committing such crimes as murder and what not. If you do enough research you will learn the fun fact that it cost over twice as much money to give a person the death penalty than it does to just give them life in prison. I hope this helped. Later

I think we do, but at the same time we need strict guidelines to ensure that da's don't lose evidence, all parties have the same chance to show relivant proof. But once convicted they should get 1 appeal, straight up, then if the SCOTUS upholds it or refuses to hear it, within 5 days they should be taken out, shot in the head, thrown in adumpster and the bill for the bullet sent to the family.

As a BIG advocate for POMC and, FOHVAMP
POMC = Parents of murdered children
FOHVAMP = Families of homicide victims and missing persons
NO!!!
Even though "My Daughter", first born child, only daughter was stalked, and murdered 12-24-2002!!!
I do NOT wish the ultimate worst heart wrenching pain EVER, on any parent!!!
NOT even "My Daughter's" murderer!!!
I would be much more at peace...Knowing this SOB was sitting in a prison cell EVERY day for the rest of his life!!! With NOTHING but time, to relive the pain, destruction, he caused a loving family, because...
He was REJECTED!!!

Years ago I agreed with the death penalty. However, after years of dealing with people in prison, I can assure you that a lot of inmates believe there is a fate worse than death. Everyday they awaken in that environment, they are reminded of why they are there. Where do we draw a line for what deserves death versus life imprisonment?

Yes. We also need to revert back to cutting hands off for stealing, lifetime jail sentences for multiple drug offenders without the chance of parole. We need to gouge the eyes out of peeping toms, slowly torture those who commit crimes against children, and cut off anatomical parts of rapists. This should be done to all criminals who are found guilty without question. You would see a drastic change for the good in America if only some of our "rights" were changed. I fully believe in the American spirit of freedom. But what about the right of that woman who was just raped to see the criminal properly punished. Or what about that kid who will grow up twisted because of what was done to him/her in the past. What about the parent who watched their child kill himself with drugs, and harm all who were around him. What about their justice, what about their rights. I think we are to easy on all of our criminals. Even those who get the death penalty.

I think the death penalty is not used enough.
but too many idiots out there always worried about the inmates rights and that hes a human and blah blah blah. well if someone kills another human in cold blood, they themselves should be killed the same way. what about the victims rights?? especially if its a woman or child?

I am not from US, but here's one: on 06,06,06 a group of people in my city walked around with syringes with AIDS viruse and stuck that into people and kids in the buses and in the streets. There was mass hysteria and nearly 150 people became victims. Death penalty for that, no?
