I don't know about "upscaled"...but it's definitely made it tighter and more congested in that area of town. Plus, they shut down the shopping center across the street.

Wal-Mart is evil.

Shop K-mart...it's less crowded.

I am in Arkansas so we have A LOT of stores. I have seen in the rich areas of town, the buildings are pretty with brick and nice stained concrete floors. They have some more exotic fruits and a selection of different gourmet foods. Some stores carry wines. The clothes are also getting nicer.

A lot of peoplecomplain about Walmart but they sure are crowded everytime I go!!

Wal-Mart? Upscale?
What'd they do? Replace McDonald's with Arbee's?

Yes, in addition to making the stores more attractive, they have put in the automated cashiers, where you scan the merchandise and pay cash at a computer.
