Leedog got it right, but here's an interesting side note: There were originally 10 tasks assigned to Hercules, but Hera declared that the Hydra didn't count (because Hercules had help), nor did the Augean stables (because he cheated). So she added 2 more, making 12 in all.

I can think of a few.
Cleaning the Stables.
Killing the Hydra.
Killing this huge lion.
Getting a girdle from amazon queen.
