I am devising a format for a questionaire .The answers or the letters of the answers must be placed in adjacent cells one each cell ,a space,comma,etc will also be considered as a single letter

I havent got an answer for my quetion.....

to further elucidate... I need that when you enter one charecter in a cell the cursor should automatically move to the next cell

I do not think it is possible to do in excel. To change cells you need to either press enter, tab or shift and tab.

You could try:
Select the cells and go to the "Format" menu, and "Cells ..." menu item. Select the "custom" style and create one character in there. I am not sure if it would work perhaps just having one underline, ie '_'
