You need to go "old school", back to the roots of rock, like Muddy Waters - almost everything is good...or Willie Dixon, who was ripped off by bands like the Doors and Led Zep. I'm 48 and have been listening to the blues for 20 years at least. I read an interview with Eric Clapton once who said go to the source. Willie Dixon is the source for Backdoor Man, Little Red Rooster, I can't quit you baby and tons more. All the big blues singers gave voice to his words. He's got a box set out, check it out.

Gary Moore - "Still got the Blues". I learned it note-for-note and sing it as well. I even forced a band i was in once to learn it , and record it in a studio as part of a club demo package. I like the tune cause Gary Moore is mainly a rocker who did his blues record , and it was all blues stuff , but his solos still have that rock flair to them , and tone , etc. If you've evr heard the song you'd know what i mean. Sorry , i won't give my age , but i will help you out by saying you aren't gonna find many kids listening to this kind of stuff.

Saw Watermelon Slim at Buddy Guy's place in Chicago. Best show I've seen this year and his CD "Watermelon Slim and the Workers" is my favorite so far this year. Next year the big 5-0.

strangers on the shore, by ackerbilk. purely instrumental, but very touching. i'm not in my 20's or 30's. instrumentals let you be the one to decide what this particular song is making you feel, and not the lyrics. you can just get lost in it. that's why i like it so much.
