step 1 - find out which areas pay 6 figure salaries. In the finance workd now a days it's - hedge funds, private equity (both LBO and VC but not mezzanine) and investment banking. Normally guys with 3 yr right experience earn 6 figures

Step 2 - where do they hire. In many cases they might hire straight from top colleges. If u r from those colleges then great, if not then go to step 3.

Step 3 - find out, apart from exp in the same area, which other areas they hire from? Eg. private equity hire from leveraged finance, financial sponsors, accountancy, IB

Step 4 - normally the areas in step 3 would be easier to enter than ur target six figure area. So try entering into those areas.

Step 5 - build skillset and gain a few years exp

Step 6 - network and gain entry.
