4 + (-5) + (-3) + (-4) = X

X = 4 - 5 -3 - 4

X = 4 - 12

X = - 8 or 8 underpar

Are you just typing your homework questions here without trying them yourself? This is the second such question of yours that I've seen!

Here's a hint to do your own work:

for "over par" use a positive integer
for "under par" use a negative

then add them all up and divide the total by the number of golf holes to get the average

if your average is negative, you were under par for the tournament - if your average is positive, you were over par
