they was very famous until the 1960's and was grown in greenhouses commercially in the Marton area of Blackpool.
The so called "Blackpool Tomatoes" had a taste which today would be regarded as old fashioned - but was a much prized commodity in times past = I am unsure of the variety used but may have been something like "Alisa Craig" as that was very popular at the time.
