Without a doubt it is Julia Quinn. I love her Bridgerton series!

It has to be Diana Gabaldon. The crossstitch series is wonderful. Full of rugged Highlanders, kilts, magic, time travel, witches and battles and heart stopping romance that spans two centuries. I defy you not to fall in love with the main character Jamie! Could not recommend it more!

This will no doubt be met with howls, but for me Barbara Cartland is the Grande Dame of them all and matchless in her prolificacy and her passion for the period she wrote about.
To wit, until I was 15 years old, I assumed every male in England had either a title and or a dukedom, earldom or at the very least a baronetcy! LOL

Georgette Heyer is unbeatable. She was the first. Everybody else copies her, but none of them are anywhere nearly as good.
