Yes, I am getting the flu shot this year. People who say they got sick from the shot have the wrong information. The flu vaccine is a dead virus and can't give you the flu. Two years ago, after getting the flu shot, I tested positive for the flu. I was only sick for two days. The shot can lessen the severity of the flu, if you do get it.

I'm not at an age where the flu poses a large threat to my life (I'm 26) and i my immune system is strong enough i haven't had the flu in about 8 or 9 years.. so no, I'm not getting the shot.. i believe in letting the immune system do a little work from time to time.. if i has to fight off a little infection here and there it'll be stronger and more ready when the real deal comes along or when you age.. but that's just me.. if you are the type of person who gets the flu regularly, or has it often turn into pneumonia.. I'd highly recommend the shot.

YES. And don't believe the people who say they got the flu from the shot. If they got the flu it's because they were going to get it anyway. I used to get the flu so bad. Since getting the shots I haven't had the flu in over 6 years.

DEF"!!!
Always have since I had the "Actual REAL Influenza" in 1986!!!

Actual Influenza/flu is not vomiting, diarrhea, etc. as sooo many think!!!

Actual Influenza is a respiratory virus!!! Can be deadly!!! People use cop out..."Oh, I got the flu from the vaccine", etc.

My answer to that ignorant response is...Just imagine how sick ya'd be if ya' get the "Real Influenza"!!!

Yes, ya' are actually getting a doze of the influenza but, this is how ya' build up ya' immunities to the real influenza.

Generally ONLY side effects are
Soreness/Tenderness at injection site...Arm may be sore/stiff
Occasionally, slight temperature
VERY rare...Tired, feeling a lil' puny
Nothing some Tylenol won't help!!! Most facilities where ya' get ya influenza vaccine give ya' a lil' goodie bag of med samples to help if any side effects do kick in.

Yes, absolutely. And, the flu shot is not a live virus, so cannot cause you to get the flu.

you should get a flu shot. everyone should. all people who say that it made them sick are not educated on the shot. the shot actually takes approx 2 weeks to get into your system and begin to work. anyone who says it made them sick, was already sick or got sick shortly thereafter. the sooner you get the shot the better, around Oct-Dec.

Yes, I am. The employee health nurse where I work just held some meetings on this subject & the stats she provided, along with the education offered, has convinced me to get one every year from now on.

Yes I am. I get one every year and never get sick. If someone says they get the flu after the shot they're full of poop. It is a sterile virus they pump into you so don't worry. Get and be healthy.

I and everyone else in my house has to. We have a preemie who was born 10 weeks early and if she gets the flu it could put her in the hospital.
