I have dark brown hair, brown eyes and ivory skin and i wear mostly browntones and sometimes lavender tones for eyeshadow. most of the time i just use black eyeliner and mascara and don't even use eyeshadow. with our coloring, we don't need to use alot of eye makeup because we are very exotic looking when we are just natural. hope this helps!

Purple?
I think you should just wear a line of liquid eyeliner on the top, but I've always heard purple eyeshadow goes well with brown eyes (I have blue eyes myself, though).
Oh, and I'm not talking about dark purple... like the kind of purple that comes with that kit from Almay that you can get at walmart. I have it (I like the purple in it)...

Lots of colors will work! I had a friend with brown eyes and her eyes popped when she used blues - just not Mimi from Drew Carey show or anything.

Unless you are black I would go with a dark brown hair color - I see too many women dyeing their hair black - yuk its very harsh.
Eye shadow I would use purple or gold and brown for night.

Earth tones. Light brown, bronze, etc. apply dark shadow along your top eyelid (like eyeliner) & smudge it upward to create a smokey look. Good Luck.

I agree with the earth tones...golds, browns, greens...or just look in a magazine and see what they are using on other people with the same characteristics.

I love to go to Mary Kay . Com... Click on "virtual make-over" and pick out the skin and eye color that best fits you... There it will give you many different colors to chose from... I like to go to print it off and go to the store and find the colors that match it (cheaper way!).
It also tells you proper ways to apply it!

If you ask a make up artist they will tell you violets are your colors. I am supposed to wear violets as well but I wear what I feel like wearing. It's all about wearing what make you feel comfortable. I wear from reds to black to turquoise. Just wear it and wear it right.
