Put the food in a bag, then in the tupperware!
Most stains, including those left by tomato-based food items, will mostly come out through repeated use and cleaning. If you'd rather not wait, there are three things you should try: 1) Make a paste of baking soda and water and rub it into the stain. Rinse with white vinegar and wash normally; 2) Place the container outside on a nice sunny day and the sun will actually bleach the stain; 3) If all else fails make a strong solution of automatic dishwasher detergent (which usually contains bleach) and water and let it set on the stain.
To prevent red stains in the future follow these tips: 1) Fill containers with food that has been first cooled to room temperature; 2) Rinse the container with cold water to "close pores" right before storing spaghetti sauce or other tomato-based sauces and soups; 3) Use a light spray coating of any cooking spray on lids and containers prior to filling with tomato-based items; 4) Rinse any Tupperware container which contained greasy food or food that might stain with cold water first. Then wash with hot soapy water in the dishwasher. Rinsing in hot water will set stains.

Ive never been able to prevent it from staining. I just stopped using it for pasta/tomato sauce because thats the worst offender.
If its stained too bad I just toss it in the trash and order some new ones. But since I stopped putting tomato sauce in mine they look like new still. I buy those cheapie throw away ones from glad for sauce now its easier and cheaper.

I just ran into this today when I ate the rest of my leftover spaghetti. All I did was soaked the container with a little soap (I use dawn with oxy) for like a half hour. Rinse it out, if it's still there repeat the process again. It will come out fine usually after the first time.

When storing anything dark like pasta sauce, spray the inside of the tupperware with nonstick spray. This works!

don't heat the food in it in the microwave too long or too hot.
avoid putting any tomato sauce in it.
no, i don't throw away mine, i soak hot water, little bleach and little soap in it. it won't go away right the first time, but it eventually will. the more you wash it in time, the more will go away. just keep using it for when you're washing vegetables, put it in the tupperware to take it to the cutting place or you can use it for cut up vegetables.

If you line your tupperware with tupperware the outer liner own't stain, if you have stained tupperware take it outside into the the yard and tell it firmly, "Go Home!" and it will eventually undersand and go back to tupperworld.

That a hard job . You can use lemon juice to remove the stain. Use warm water to wash not hot.
