There are quite a few comparisons to make here!!! Start with the creature/creatures themselves:

They attack at night
They both are portrayed with mythical qualities by the villages/town people.

You can compare/contrast the peoples being attacked…

the 13th warrior is based on a Michael Crichton Book called Eaters of the Dead-- It is written as a eyewitness testimony --Very cool! The only resemblance of Beowolf is the Celt/ Viking culture throughout both.
