dip the part of pant that is tar stained in petrol &rub by your index finger and thumb. the stain shall go in 5 seconds

There are two products that will work. "Goo Gone" or "Goof Off". They can be purchased at any of the home supply stores, hardware stores and grocery stores. They smell terrible, but work very well. Use outside or open the windows. Good Luck!!!!

try a product called "goof off" it works good on removing paint and glue. i am pretty sure it claims to remove tar.
you would think the constuction companies would learn to close off the road until it is dry.

Apply some kerosene on the pants and keep it aside for some minutes and then wash it in detergent....problem solved!!!

Please be careful about using combustible substances on your clothing. Whatever you do, rinse them several times and then air dry them. You don't need your dryer exploding. I would try rubbing it with Fels Naphtha Soap.

before you wash them, spray carb cleaner on the area. brake cleaner and wd40 also work well.
